Based on a highly skilled staff of naval architects and naval engineers, the company’s technical and maintenance team masters all known and new techniques to provide safety at all time as well as to support, at a top level, the functionality and operations of the fleet.

The company’s technical team with extensive experience in ship management offers focused and high quality services to all customers ensuring that all activities are fully undertaken in-house.

Furthermore the managers of the department have the ability to provide cost effective ship management solutions for all types of vessels. In addition, under the guidance of the operations management and full cooperation with every employee in the technical department, they make sure that all projects are carried out based on the company’s standards.


Technical Department’s Top Positions and Main Responsibilities

Technical Manager

Technical Manager delegates responsibilities and co-ordinates the department’s activities. More specifically:

  • Provides Technical support to the company’s fleet
  • Manages the maintenance, repairs and technical matters of the vessels
  • Generates and develops ideas and projects concerning the continuous improvement of the fleet’s performance with regards to all measured parameters as well as to the department’s upgrading
  • Performs research and analysis on new technologies and recommends optimum solutions
  • Controls vessel’s Dry Dock and repairs project by evaluating the specification, quotation and finally the approval by the Fleet Manager
  • Establishes and maintains good relationship with the Flag Administrations, Classification Societies, Subcontractors, Shipyards and suppliers
  • Liaises with third parties for all technical or operation problems that may occur
  • Assists Management with New Buildings vessels’ activities
  • Establishes budgeting per vessel under analysis, targeting and case study evaluation
  • Negotiates with the shipyards’ subcontractors
  • Participates in the company’s Emergency Response team as well as in the Management Review team

Technical Fleet Manager

  • Ensures that the company’s Safety and Environment protection systems are effectively implemented onboard
  • Prepares repair specification
  • Ensures that all vessels are continuously operated in accordance with the company’s procedures and instructions
  • Reviews any reported problems, technical defects and breakdowns and makes sure that all necessary actions are taken
  • Ensures that all vessels are maintained in a good and sound condition whilst and that all relevant classification and statutory requirements are met
  • Monitors the operational performance of the vessels
  • Ensures that the vessels are inspected by the Superintendent Engineers
  • Coordinates, monitors and arranges all the technical back up of repairs and dry-dockings, ensuring their proper attendance by the Superintendent Engineers
  • Instructs the Superintendent Engineers and ship personnel to undertake the appropriate actions with compliance to the company’s objectives
  • Monitors and approves orders following purchase workflow of engine stores, paints, chemicals, gases and lubricants
  • Participates in the company’s Emergency Response team
Superintendent Engineer
  • Ascertains close knowledge of maintenance, condition and operation of the vessels and advises, instructs and cooperates with the ship’s personnel to ensure that all operations are in compliance with class and statutory requirements as well as with the company’s instructions, guidelines regarding safety and environment protection
  • Monitors he quality of machineries Lube Oil and Water cooling treatment
  • Inspects the vessels in order to:
  • Check and evaluate maintenance in compliance to PMS
  • Monitor the vessels’ overall condition
  • Instruct onboard personnel on further maintenance and repair activities
  • Fill in the Ship Inspection Report and submit it through PMS to the Fleet Manager
  • Perform onboard internal audits when instructed
  • Prepares repairs and dry dock specifications
  • Assists in the monitoring of the Class and statutory requirements and ensures that all surveys carried out by Class, Port State Control, P&I Clubs, USCH, etc., are successfully completed with the proper preparations and assistance by the crew or external resources - Bottom info - Home Section
