NAVARONE S.A. was established in 1970 and currently has its head office in Athens, Greece.

Its main activity lies in the operation of oceangoing vessels, while also having expertise in the challenging trade of the Great Lakes, and Ice Navigation.

With more than 50 years of experience in the marine industry, NAVARONE S.A. is well known to the shipping community, enjoying a high reputation for its strong integrity and professionalism.

Our journey through years

Foundation

NAVARONE S.A. was founded in 1970. Initially, the company was active in the field of chartering, operating as a broker.

First steps

In 1973 NAVARONE S.A. undertook the management of the company’s first two vessels.

Growth

The years between 1973 and 1990 were significantly active in terms of the sale and purchase of vessels since NAVARONE S.A. was entirely focused on ship management.

Strategic Partnerships

In 1994, Michael Ghiokas, followed by his son Orestis, CEO, NAVARONE S.A., entered into a strategic partnership with the Canadian Forest Navigation, one of the leading cargo operators worldwide.

Great Lakes

Since 1995, NAVARONE S.A. has been supervising the construction and operation of a fleet of various sizes of bulk carriers, enhancing its expertise with the particularly demanding trade of the Great Lakes.

Canfornav

The company forms a strategic joint venture with Canfornav, a world-class owner and operator of 36 Bulk Carriers (Handymax, Supramax) built in China under NAVARONE S.A.’s supervision. Furthermore, having participated in the equity, NAVARONE S.A. stands as a Technical Manager and CANFORNAV as a Commercial Manager.
